MESQUITE - Today, State Rep. Cindy Burkett (R-Mesquite) formally endorsed State Senator Bob Deuell for reelection.  A former staffer for Deuell, Rep. Burkett currently serves House District 101 which covers Senate District Two's Dallas County communities of Mesquite, Sunnyvale and Balch Springs.

 

�As a member of his Senate staff, I saw firsthand how hard Dr. Deuell works on behalf of his constituents," said Burkett.  "When I joined him as a colleague this past legislative session, it was my privilege to draw on his many years of experience as we worked together to pass critical legislation for our community.�

 

Rep. Burkett has filed for reelection in House District 113.  Due to redistricting, HD113 was formed to encompass most of Mesquite along with newer areas in northeastern Dallas County.  Rep. Burkett was first elected in 2010, defeating an incumbent Democrat.
