The Texas Alliance for Life Political Action Committee has endorsed State Senator Bob Deuell for reelection in the 2012 Republican Primary.
A leader in the effort to protect life in Texas, Executive Director Joe Pojman listed five criteria which determined the Alliance’s support of Senator Deuell, which are as follows: 1. Requiring parental consent for abortions and treatments on minor girls; 2. Promoting adult stem cell research and treatments and opposing tax funding for embryonic stem cell research, which requires the destruction of human embryos; 3. Support for informed consent requirements for women considering abortion, including a requirement to make the sonogram image of the unborn child available; 4. Prenatal protection for unborn children from violent crimes of assault and homicide; and 5. Limits on state funding of organizations offering elective abortions.
“We accomplished a lot this past session in protecting life, including passage of our state’s landmark sonogram bill,” said Senator Deuell, a family physician and co-author of the new law's informed consent provisions. “I am honored that Texas Alliance for Life has decided to continue their support of me as we keep up the fight.”
The Texas Alliance for Life PAC was established by the Texas Alliance for Life, Inc., a nonprofit organization of people across the state committed to protecting innocent human life from conception until natural death. |
